Foundational Behavioral Science Principles You Can Apply To Your Communications
Presented Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 10:30AM to 11:30AM ET

Join BVA Nudge Unit and Boston Scientific as they detail their recent partnership using Behavioral Science principles in health communications. Behavioral Science principles were incorporated into a Boston Scientific patient support call guide, and Patient Education Specialists (PESs) were trained on how to use these principles when speaking with patients. Ongoing reinforcement and support was also provided post-training using simple techniques, tools, and dedicated Champions. Meaningful improvements in PES-patient interactions were observed in follow-up evaluation. Key takeaways include...

  • Foundational BeSci principles that can be used in health communications
  • The impact of training and ongoing support, including better supported and educated patients
  • More informed HCP-patient discussion
  • Ultimately helping HCPs focus on personalized, efficient care in the office); and the potential to increase organizational effectiveness by upskilling health communicators using BeSci tools and techniques
